Reunion Roadmap 10/23/2021 – with Special Guest Samuel Wearp

What is a greater act of faith – interacting only with those who agree with us at every point, or stepping out of our comfort zone to interact with those who are different from us in many ways? What if the point of our interaction is not to bring those people to see and accept our point of view, but simply to get to know them and see where our God might take the relationship?

These are hard questions Samuel Wearp has considered has he and his family have developed deep relationships with their Jewish Israeli friends. It’s a walk of faith that the Wearp family has navigated by their involvement with Blessed Buy Israel and the Nations 9th of Av. Samuel shares a bit about where that walk has led them in this concluding portion of our conversation with him.

Barry Phillips and David Jones address the topic of walking out our faith in their midrash, “Inside-Out Faith,” a topic Melody Joy Cloud and Will Spires investigate in their introspective and uplifting music.

Reunion Roadmap 10/16/2021 – with Special Guest Samuel Wearp

What could  the church gain from connecting with the Jewish people in a positive way? What has the church lost over the centuries by not doing so? These are questions Samuel Wearp covers in this second part of our three-part interview with him. He should know. As a key part of his family’s ministry, Blessed Buy Israel, and of the Nations 9th of Av, Samuel has had opportunity to develop lasting friendships with Jewish Israelis, and to experience tremendous blessing through those relationships. Along the way, he has learned much of what the Bible says about the central place Israel occupies in God’s redemptive plans.

The music of Teshuva highlights the messages brought by Samuel and by Barry Phillips and David Jones in their midrash, “Honesty or Truth.”

Reunion Roadmap 10/09/2021 – with Special Guest Samuel Wearp

Samuel Wearp has worked his entire life to connect the two parts of God’s covenant family. That’s not a long time in years, but an impressive accomplishment nonetheless! The Wearp family is embarked on a calling to connect with and support the Jewish people and the state of Israel. That’s the purpose of their family business and ministry, Blessed Buy Israel, and of their involvement with the Nations 9th of Av. Samuel is living out his passion to see Christians and Jews come together in peace and mutual respect based on their shared allegiance to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and their faithful expectation of His restoration of all Israel and redemption of all nations in the Messianic Kingdom. In this first segment of a three-part interview, Samuel talks about the most recent Nations 9th of Av observance of the Fast of the 5th Month (the ninth of Av), and what has motivated him to play a significant role in this initiative to deal with the tragic history of Christians and Jews, and to make a difference for good for the future.

Samuel emphasizes the theme of repentance, or “teshuva,” in what he shares. That’s the topic of the midrash by Barry Phillips and David Jones. Teshuva is also the subject of our musical presentations, delivered, appropriately, by the band, Teshuva.
