The Other Half of the Shema

Here’s what is coming up on The Remnant Road on Hebrew Nation Radio for Monday, June 19:

Everyone knows the first part of the Shema – that greatest of all commandments:

Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. (Deuteronomy 6:4-5 NASB)

What we seem to overlook in our busy lives is this very important second part:

These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.” (Deuteronomy 6:6-7 NASB)

As this Torah Awakening accelerates and families find themselves in transition from traditional Christianity to walking in Torah with Yeshua, our children sometimes get lost in the shuffle. That’s one reason why God created youth ministers! Not to take the place of parents in the spiritual upbringing of their children, but to help them help their own young people become grounded in the Word of God and the God of the Word.

Our guests today know exactly what this means. Jose Ireta comes to the Remnant Road to tell us about Messiah West Coast, where he is Camp Director. In this tenth year of the camp’s operation, the theme is “The Ten Commandments: Going Back to the Basics.”

Along with him are Luke and Kayte Abaffy, producers of The Way: A Documentary. The Abaffys are no strangers to the Remnant Road, but this time they drop by to share their passion for youth!

Join us for an exciting conversation that everyone can relate to!
